Overview
Acne is an inflammatory condition characterized by redness and bumps appearing on the skin. Many times, acne can make the skin more irritated and sensitive than usual, and can cause the complexion to appear blotchy and uneven. Fortunately, there are skin care treatments that are both soothing and acne-fighting that can eliminate breakouts and reduce redness at the same time. By following a regimen that cleanses the skin gently, soothes redness and irritation, and kills acne-causing bacteria without aggravating the skin, acne can be cleared effectively.
Step 1
Cleanse your skin with a gentle, chemical-free soap. Wet your face well with water. Lather your hands with the natural soap. Apply the lather to your skin gently, and spread it around the entire area. Rinse off the lather with warm water. Repeat twice per day.
Step 2
Apply an oatmeal mask. Pour 1/2 cup of raw, ground oats into a bowl, and pour 1 cup of boiling water onto it. Wait until the oatmeal mixture cools down completely, and spread it onto your skin. Allow the oatmeal mask to remain on your skin for at least 15 minutes then rinse it off with cool water. Repeat twice per day.
Step 3
Spot treat the acne breakouts with tea tree oil. Dip a cotton swab into tea tree oil, then again into water. Dab the diluted tea tree oil onto the affected skin, and allow it to completely soak into the skin. Repeat twice per day.
